Walking today, because my chest hurt and I needed a much needed relaxing walk instead of jog, taking in all that was around me, the sounds of birds, the breeze on my skin, the splash of fish (walked through Saddle Creek). Completely in awe of my mother earth, and how she has so many wonderful things that put us in balance.
Then I noticed something else, something so vile I wanted to scream. There were beer bottles, styrofoam cups, paper wrappers, and even a used condom YUCK! Why do we treat our mother this way, can we not see that we are the germs? We are making her so sick that she is dying. Global warming is yes a natural thing, however we are speeding the process, by our own destructive ways. Gaia is coughing violently to breath within our pollution, it is her own antibodies trying to rid her of the germs, yes us. She is sick people because of what we have put into her lungs and on her flesh. She has a fever, and we are standing by doing nothing except watching her and filling her with more filth!
Recycle, be mindful of were you put your debris, try to limit your trash, walk more often, plant a tree, do something that helps and not hurts. I have started to clean my house with Vinegar instead of chemicals and guess what, it works just as well, and does not kill the environment. Practice conservation, when brushing your teeth turn the water off while you brush. Also if you see trash pick it up, it won't kill you, be mindful of your surroundings, take in what Gaia has to offer us, you will feel more in balance than ever before. Quit taking a wait and see approach, it is obvious that since we are driven by a capitalist society we are not going to have world leaders that take a proactive approach to saving Gaia. Be your world leader, take that proactive approach. I know alot of people put down Al Gore, but one thing I do respect in that man is that his fight for the environment has always been in the forefront. People make fun of him for that, but I respect him for it! We need more politicians who see Gaia and her pain. Hell we need more people to see Gaia period. It is her breath we feel on a cool spring day, it is her flesh we lay upon when looking at the clouds. Notice her! She is the sustation of our lives, and we are of her. Gaia is a living breathing organism and we are just the cells that make up her body. Let's be helping cells instead of the germs to which has invaded her homeostasis!
